Sue Bowles joins the podcast to share her story of hurts that left her feeling beyond help. Sue describes a “nagging optimism” that kept her going, even when she wanted to give up and end her own life. Sue is the author of "This Much I Know...The Space Between," a book where she shares her pursuit of healing from childhood sexual abuse and other traumas resulting in an eating disorder, constantly struggling to answer the question "Why?"

GraceStory Ministry's own Ryan Watters, LPC joins the podcast to help address a hard, but incredibly important topic—sexual abuse. In this episode we give voice to the hidden pain of sexual abuse and speak about the emotions experienced after sexual abuse. We also talk about sexual abuse in the church, marriage, and much more. Our guest on this episode is Krissie Garland who has a story to tell and resources to share. She is a widow and was married to an amazing man for 8 years—a man who is now with Jesus. Being a widow does not define who Krissie is, however. She has a heart to help hurting and broken people. What started as a calling as a licensed professional counselor, became a personal mission when my late husband took his life after battling mental illness and addiction. Krissie says, "I became a Therapist because I personally know what it is like to experience pain, and I know what it is like to fight towards healing."
