On this episode Morey Ostlund joins the show to share her story and some of the content of her book, Unlovable. After being abandoned by her parents at the age of five and sexually abused for years by a foster parent, Morey unfolds her story of how this trauma led her down a path of self-sabotage and destruction, desperately seeking to fill the void in her heart with men, acceptance, status, and alcohol. Anything that would make the sting of past rejections go away, even if just temporarily. At age 40, she seemed to have it all by the world's standards, but she still felt empty. Facing a second divorce, she came to the end of her own rope. When she quit searching for love in all the wrong places and took a chance on God, He healed all her broken pieces. Darryll Davis, director of The Prisoners Hope, is passionate about making a difference in a seeming vast ocean of prison population and broken lives. This passion comes in part from his own story. In 1988, it took a jury of his peers only 30 minutes to find Darryl Davis guilty of Wanton Murder and sentence him to 35 years in prison. After surrendering his life to Christ and serving two-thirds of that sentence, Darryll has completely turned his life around and now shares his story to help others on their journey of restoration.

Jeremy Harrell joins GraceStory Podcast to share his story of coming to Christ, fighting for the USA overseas, and what coming home looked like for him as a veteran who eventually was found to have both PTSD and traumatic brain injury. Jeremy is not one to let a diagnosis keep him on the sidelines. Jeremy founded Veteran’s Club INC, which is a premier nonprofit that assists Veterans in healing from PTSD, TBI, Substance Abuse, and to assist homeless Veterans with housing and programs to get them back on their feet. Jeremy helps to lead the organization as they provide Connection, Healing, Recovery, Housing Assistance, and Vocational Training to the Veteran and First Responder Community.

Jon shares what is was like to eventually face his perpetrator later on in life who had never changed their behavior and to confront them with the truth even as they actively denied reality.
